On January 4th, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released a proposed rule that will increase immigration application fees, including naturalization, family-sponsored and employment-based visas, and other immigration benefits.
Under the new proposal, the costs to bring a spouse and two children to the United States could exceed $10,000. One class of investment visa, now $3,675, would increase to $11,160. Companies, nonprofits, and universities wishing to sponsor immigrant workers could soon find the fees prohibitive.
