About 260 Valentine’s Day cards were hand-delivered by Sr. Denise LaRock to the chaplains at Dilley and Pearsall for distribution.to those in detention. Most of them were written at a card writing event at University Presbyterian Church on Jan. 22. Additional cards were delivered to the church by those who wanted to participate but could not attend the event.
This event follows a Christmas Card Campaign in which more than 725 cards were delivered to appreciative detainees.These cards are a reminder to those in detention that they are loved and not forgotten. We are so grateful to all who participated.
