It is hard to celebrate when you are in detention and your loved ones are in harm’s way. It is even harder when you feel alone and that nobody cares.
That is why IWC held a card writing event at the University Presbyterian Church on Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. About 10 people wrote dozens of cards to those in detention, which will be lovingly hand-delivered by Sr. Denise LaRock to the chaplains at Dilley and Pearsall for distribution.
