IWC volunteers at the bus station, the airport, and in earlier years at the Detention Centers have come to know immigrants. As faithful and active volunteers, we will continue the work we are doing, but we must also learn how to advocate effectively to create a secure life for the men, women, and children who we meet and serve.
We know that “Service work must be paired with justice work” as we plan for the next 10 years.
This conference aims to develop a legion of advocates to take organized action that will affect a change in our elected leadership in the coming 10 years.
