Recent court rulings have once again put Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) in jeopardy, and an upcoming ruling by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals* could end it altogether. Speak up NOW in your own words, or use the text below from a statement by Fran Eskin-Royer, executive director of the National Advocacy Center of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd.

I URGE YOU TO CREATE A PERMANENT PATH TO CITIZENSHIP FOR DACA RECIPIENTS
In the message field, copy and paste this (or use your own words):
Ten years ago, the U.S. put in place a temporary program that embraced young people from all parts of the world brought to the U.S. as children. The DACA program allowed them to dream, grow, and thrive here, contributing to the U.S.’s beautiful tapestry. A decade later, these DACA recipients—and those who would be newly eligible but for the program’s suspension—continue to live in fear and uncertainty. I urge you to create permanent solutions that put all our immigrant brothers and sisters on a pathway to citizenship so that they might live with greater dignity in the U.S., sharing their gifts and strengthening the social fabric of this nation.
Fill out your contact info, scroll down to the appropriate topic (probably “immigration”), and click “Send.”
DONE! In less than five minutes, you’ve contacted your legislators and spoken up for dreamers. (Help us count your action by emailing here with “I emailed for DACA” in the subject line.)
*(The powerful Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals is nominated by the President and confirmed by the US Senate. Judges have lifetime tenure, so it is imperative to direct your votes toward electors who will nominate and confirm judges who share your conviction to welcome the stranger.)
