IWC Communications Chair, Joan Plotnick, spoke to about 50 women at a Hill Country Texas Democratic Women’s (HCTDW) luncheon on Feb. 3 in Kerrville. The presentation focused on IWC’s history, programs, and advocacy efforts, as well as information on how interested parties can stay informed and involved in a changing legislative landscape.
Several of the HCTDW members are faithful IWC volunteers – creating backpacks for the bus station and airport – and it collects donations for IWC at every meeting. IWC Volunteer and HCTDW board member Coral Adema coordinates between the two groups. At the meeting, the group generously donated $100 to the IWC’s programming efforts.
HCTDW supports women’s rights and promotes the influence of Democratic women in Texas politics with an emphasis on electing progressive, open-minded candidates at the local and state levels.
