In each IWC newsletter’s Take Five column, we ask you to spend a few minutes calling or emailing your legislators in support of those seeking safety in our country. And this year, you stepped up—with over a thousand Take Five actions! (We purposely undercount, so the number is probably much higher.) That’s over a threefold increase from last year! Thank you for taking the time to take action in ways large and small.
Also this year, the IWC joined the Interfaith Immigration Coalition (IIC), a partnership of over 50 national faith-based organizations committed to enacting fair and humane immigration reform reflecting our mandate to welcome the stranger and treat all human beings with dignity and respect. Through the Advocacy Committee, facilitated by co-chairs Matt Lohmeier and Meg Scott, the IWC signed on to a multitude of letters and policy papers calling on Congress and the Administration to enact just and humane immigration reform.
