IWC Coordinating Director Tori Salas was interviewed by the San Antonio Express News about what the political landscape may hold for immigrants and those who advocate for them. As the article notes, immigrant advocates can’t think of any recent year that was good for asylum-seekers and those living out their faith by welcoming the stranger. Each year brings more complex struggles and tensions piled atop the already dangerous journeys migrants make to get to U.S. borders. But this year is likely to be worse.
“I’m not sure what we’re bracing for,” said Tori Salas of the San Antonio-based Interfaith Welcome Coalition, “But we know when there’s an election, both sides start getting stricter on immigration.” Read more here.
