On Aug.31, the Chabad Jewish Learning Center in downtown San Antonio donated 120 homemade meals to the University Methodist Church to be distributed to immigrants in need.”Rev. Liliana Padilla took the meals to the apartments where immigrants are staying. The meals were hot and included meat, which is a luxury,” said Tori Salas, IWC Coordinating Director.
The Chabad “Our Giving Kitchen” program brings people together to prepare fresh, homemade meals for neighbors facing food insecurity. Through volunteer cooking sessions and community partnerships, we’re nourishing our neighbors, strengthening the bonds that unite us, and building a culture of giving across San Antonio. The program is open to everyone, regardless of religious affiliation.
