As part of the IWC 10th Anniversary Celebration, IWC will be publishing a book of 70+ stories tentatively titled, Traveling Mercies: Encounters with Asylum Seekers in San Antonio. The stories are told directly by our volunteers about their experiences and the immigrants they serve. Let’s change the narrative about “immigrants poisoning our country.”
At times funny, at times heartwarming, at times inspirational – it is a book you will treasure and share. The collection also includes a foreword by Nestor Gomez, a long-time featured (and audience favorite) storyteller at the Texas Storytelling Festival who fled Guatemala as a child. Purchase options will be announced in future newsletters, social media, other 10th anniversary events, and on our website.
