Interfaith Welcome Coalition (IWC) is pleased to announce that Mario Peralta and Minerva Briones have been hired as our new Welcoming Associates.
The Welcoming Associates have the crucial responsibilities of greeting new arrivals to downtown San Antonio in both the Greyhound bus terminal and Travis Park and providing the following support:
- Determine our guests’ travel readiness.
- Help facilitate the printing out and purchasing of tickets.
- Interpret tickets and explain bus transfers in our guests’ itineraries.
- Coordinate transportation for guests who need to go to hotels, shelters, or the airport.
- Distribute food and travel supplies based on need.
- Translate as warranted.
They also collaborate with IWC staff and volunteers as well as with partner organizations by doing the following:
- Keep accurate records of arrivals and departures.
- Monitor inventory of supplies and restock as needed.
- Communicate needs to IWC leadership.
- Work as a positive, proactive, flexible teammate.
