Last week, a young Spanish-speaking man asked me if I remembered him. I’m sorry to say I did not. A year ago, he told me, he was frightened after crossing the border and I had encouraged him to go visit the Riverwalk since he had oodles of time before his bus was leaving. He did not dare.
This day he had come back for his court hearing and—thanks be to God—he was smiling with joy. He said he even dared to enjoy the Riverwalk! He stayed around our area in the bus station the whole time.
In reality, it may have been another volunteer….They say, you know, we Caucasians all look alike. 😊
